Shino Yanai is an artist who creates installations using performance, video and sound. She studied classical music early in life and Japanese painting before studied contemporary art. Her art practice looks at the way of showing the invisible power structures and violence, and it draws on traumatic events to critique the power of the state and the aesthetics of nationalism.
