Newspeak is a voice performance piece featuring masculine speech with ambient music playing in the background. This performance was inspired by George Orwell’s book, 1984. I wrote a poem using the  ‘Newspeak’ vocabulary, a fictional language created in Orwell’s 1984. This piece explores the power relationship between language and politics.
